Pink Salmon - Should We Be Worried?

On 28th and 29th June 2022 at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh, MSA Member, The Atlantic Salmon Trust (AST) hosted a two day international workshop focussed on emerging threats facing Atlantic salmon.

The AST brought together leading experts and fishery managers on Pink salmon and Red Skin Disease with the aim to collate the existing information these two threats pose to wild Atlantic salmon, highlight gaps in our understanding and to identify how we may best inform fishery managers.

Watch the AST’s pink salmon video playlist on YouTube, including presentations from experts from the USA, Finland, Norway and the UK.

As an Alliance of six organisations, we will build on the existing work of our partners and maximise our impact by taking a coordinated approach and vital action in order to halt and reverse the decline of wild Atlantic salmon.

The goal of the Missing Salmon Alliance is to build an evidence-base to influence national and international decision-makers to regulate activities that adversely impact wild Atlantic salmon.
